My name is Gergana Dobreva and I am a freelance director, video editor, and filmmaker. I am originally from Bulgaria and am currently based in the UK. I have had a deep passion for Arts since I was a child and in the past 5 years I have been working on developing and transforming my passion into a career, striving to deliver positive social impact through Art.
I graduated in Theatre and Professional Practice BA (Hons) with a First at the University of Bedfordshire, UK, after having graduated from the National High School of stage and film design with Acting in Bulgaria. Working between two countries developed my ability to connect and collaborate with people from different countries, embracing diversity, the exchange of experience, and creative ideas. In the past few years, I have been directing, co-devising, writing, and video editing in contemporary theatre productions, films, moving image, and music videos.
I have experience in theatre production with a confident understanding of a wide range of producing processes including production and project management. Working with professional actors and directors in the UK, making research, and taking an interest in continuous classes and workshops have helped me develop my skills in production-making.
I am available on a freelance basis for hire on third-party productions. I’m driven to make art that have a positive influence on society and strive to work creatively and, most importantly, on content that matters.
